When your child is in hospital, we're here to support them with care, compassion and engaging learning that's tailored to their individual needs.
Admissions
If your child is aged between 3 and 19 and they are in-patients of Evelina London Children’s Hospital, you are welcome to register them with our school. We also offer part-time support for younger children from the term after their second birthday.
We work daily with ward teams to decide whether young people are well enough to take part in sessions. They last between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on their age and how well they feel.
No matter how long your child is in hospital, they can expect engaging and interesting activities. If they will be with us for a while, we can also support them in work from their home school. Children are dual registered, so their home school receives an attendance mark when they come to school here.
Morning: 10am to 12pm Afternoon (Monday): 1.30pm to 3pm Afternoon (Tuesday – Friday): 1.30pm to 3.30pm The school office is open on weekdays between 8.30am and 4pm
Data protection
Data protection governs how personal information about individuals is collected and used. Schools follow the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. It applies to identifiable personal data only. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) regulates data protection, and concerns can be raised via their website: ico.org.uk.
We work hard to keep all children safe and to help them make healthy choices. If you have concerns about your child’s safety or wellbeing in or out of school, please contact our safeguarding lead, Laura Perrett. Like all schools, we follow the government’s Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
Evelina London Children’s Hospital cares for children and young people from across south London and southeast England. To learn more about its services, specialisms and the care your child can expect, please visit the hospital’s website.
